My first sourdough


Bread baking is all about waiting around for the yeast to do it’s work.  Counting the time to make the starter, that boule took 3 weeks of waiting and only 45 minutes of hands on work. It’s 100% whole wheat and made with home grown wild yeast.

The baguettes are the usual pain al ancienne made with Saf Instant Yeast. Once you figure it out, pain al ancienne is the easiest bread ever. If you really like bread, get Peter Reinhart’s book and try it.
